| Young people meet most every Sunday evening for about an hour
and a half to share very special times together. Recently,
some of them were asked to explain what benefits they gain from
attending the youth group activities.
Here are some of their
comments:1. They
enjoy being together because it affords them an opportunity to
discuss issues that come up in their day to day lives. They
can relate to others going through the same kinds of things.
2. They enjoy the fact that
the activities are fun, and they just like being together in
general.
3. They believe that their
interaction serves as a way to "build each other up."
4. They consider the time
together as "team building" where they find strength in numbers.
5. They believe the meetings
provide them a mechanism to learn, both in spiritual matters and
in general about life.
Additionally, this group encourages friends to come and spend
time with them in a non-pressured environment. Their faith is
not secret and they share the message of Jesus Christ openly.
But, none of their guests need to feel any undue influence to do
anything except enjoy being with young people who have found the
Christian life to be the best way to live.
